This collection visually documents 1926 granite War Memorial, in Memorial Park, Highland Park, Illinois designed and installed by James Cady Ewell. Photo negatives show the creation of the sculpture in studio and the final installation.
The collection also includes family history excerpts from Ewell's and Crafts Dudley Watson's biographies and a sound disc of a talk by Watson rerecorded by Watson (and Cady Ewell's) grandson.
Watson also lived and worked in Highland Park, Illinois and was the maternal grandfather of the donor. .
The bulk of this collection dates from the 1970s-1980s and is comprised of both, inter- and intra-organizational correspondences regarding the activities of the Highland Park Masonic Lodge. Other items in this collection include: member directories, financial records and newspaper clippings.

Also included are a lady's lace cap, a booklet celebrating the 20th anniversary of the hospital in 1938, a postcard, and a photocopy of the fifteenth census of the United States of 1930, issued by the Department of Commerce - Bureau of the Census.

The North Shore Yacht Club collection is comprised of photographic images, financial ledgers, membership rosters and surveys, race information, safety and procedural instructions, Yacht Club publications, and scrapbooks The scrapbooks document the activities of the North Shore Yacht Club from 1929 through 2005; with the bulk of scrapbooks dating from 1930 to 1970. "Breeze" (Box 1), the Yacht Club's newsletter and the Harbor Study documents pertaining to beach erosion in Highland Park (Box 2.11) document the activities and goals of the organization. It holds invitations and legal documents ranging from 1969-1970. The fourth series is Newspapers. It contains newspapers and newspaper clippings dating from 1968-1970. The final series is Objects. This series contains all the objects brought in with the archival material. These items are personal, professional, and commemorative. They range in dates from 1959-1986.
