Biographical history
The Better Homes in America movement advocated home ownership and specific citizen and consumer behavior. Although The Better Homes in America existed as a private institution, Herbert Hoover served as its advocate during his tenures as United States Secretary of Commerce and President as did other prominent government officials. The organization also encouraged new home construction and vocational educational programs. Babette Kornblith served as local chairman of the Organization's local general committee in Highland Park, Illinios, 1930-1931.
