This collection contains: photographs, patent specifications, correspondence, original research produced by the Highland Park Historical Society, newspaper clippings, magazine articles and other secondary publications pertaining to Elisha Gray, his inventions & his business endeavers. This collection contains items dating from 1860 to 2001; with the bulk of the collection dating from 1960 to 1990.

The J.Marion Gutnayer Collection consists of 18 folders, the bulk of which are architectural drawings and plans. The collection spans two segments of Gutnayer's long career and focus on projects near and around Highland Park, Illinois. The collection consists of residential projects from the early to mid-1950s, residential homes for the early to mid-1980s, and several multi-dwelling buildings from the late 1980s. A large portion of the collection documents the McDaniel Square complex, a multi-unit dwelling built throughout the 1980s. The collection contains architectural plans, sketches, schedules, topography surveys, as well as legal correspondence and promotional materials related to McDaniel Square.

This collection documents the Highland Park Hospital. There are two series: Friends of Highland Park Hospital and Highland Park Hospital.

The first series holds reports and other materials created by the Friends of Highland Park Hospital and related organizations. The community funded hospital and its supporting organizations created and disseminated updates on the hospital's progress, events, and free general health information. The Hospital also had a Thrift Shop, run by the Highland Park Hospital Auxiliary. This series includes newsletters, annual reports, correspondence, pamphlets, and thrift shop information.

The second series, Highland Park Hospital, documents the Highland Park Hospital. It holds material to increase awareness and promote the Hospital. Annual reports, early birth records, correspondence, hospital development information, program information, pamphlets, newsletters, newspaper clippings, newspapers, photographs (images and negatives), and stock certificates comprise this collection.

This collection consists of teaching materials used by Barbara Whitford while she was working as a Special Training Unit Teacher at Ford Sheridan during the years 1941-1945. Whitford taught remedial reading and arithmetic to soldiers during World War II. Included in this collection as well are personal administrative files of Whitford's during this time as well as some correspondence with her students.

The collection has been separated into two series. The first series contains Barbara Whitford's instructional materials used in her classes. The second series contains the personal administrative document of Barbara Whitford as well as documents kept from her time with the Special Training Unit.

This collections consists of photographs of people from or around Highland Park. At least one image was created by the Brand Brothers Studio. However, a spectrum of photography studios is represented.

Collection contains photographs of places and special events around Highland park. Collection includes nine files of photographs organized by subject. There are five files of photo negatives, also organized by subject.

The bulk of this collection dates from the 1970s-1980s and is comprised of both, inter- and intra-organizational correspondences regarding the activities of the Highland Park Masonic Lodge. Other items in this collection include: member directories, financial records and newspaper clippings.

This collection visually documents 1926 granite War Memorial, in Memorial Park, Highland Park, Illinois designed and installed by James Cady Ewell. Photo negatives show the creation of the sculpture in studio and the final installation.

The collection also includes family history excerpts from Ewell's and Crafts Dudley Watson's biographies and a sound disc of a talk by Watson rerecorded by Watson (and Cady Ewell's) grandson.

Watson also lived and worked in Highland Park, Illinois and was the maternal grandfather of the donor.
