Likely created by Henry X Arenberg, this collection of Kodachrome slides documents local landmarks and civic life in Highland Park and Highwood, Illinois during the late 1960s and early 1970s. Many slides show Highland Park's downtown shopping and business district, Central Avenue, and document the area's changing landscape including the construction of medians and businesses. The slides contain images of houses, businesses, the annual July 4th parade, municipal buildings, the relocation of Highland Park Historical Society's Stupey Cabin and fire and police personnel. This collection also documents recreational activities such as camping and participation in Girl Scouts.

The Hotel Moraine-on-the-Lake Collection contains correspondence, records, promotional material, photographs and items relating to the operation of the Hotel Moraine-on-the-Lake. The collection contains materials from all periods of operation, but focuses mainly on the years between 1960 and 1968 when it operated as a site for industry conventions. The collection also documents the development proposed by Bert Schwartz and the community activism of the Moraine Citizens Committee. The Highland Park Historical Society was active in the last years of the hotel's existence celebrating its history and accruing items that would become this collection. Also documented in this collection is the Hotel Moraine (Highwood, Illinois). The Hotel Moraine (Highwood) is represented by news clippings, photographs, and original architectural plans

The Highland Park Mighty Midgets football team was comprised of young men and boys from and around Highland Park. This collection contains, logbooks, rosters, newspaper clippings, and playbooks.

This collection contains photographs, yearbooks, report cards, attendance records, graduation and school performance programs, a financial record book, newspaper articles, and other school related ephemera from Highland Park Schools. The Highland Park Schools Collection appears to have been created at the Highland Park Historical Society and provenance is mixed and mostly undocumented. It should also be noted that many of the photographs within the collection were taken by the Brand Studio of Highland Park, IL. The North Shore Yacht Club collection is comprised of photographic images, financial ledgers, membership rosters and surveys, race information, safety and procedural instructions, Yacht Club publications, and scrapbooks The scrapbooks document the activities of the North Shore Yacht Club from 1929 through 2005; with the bulk of scrapbooks dating from 1930 to 1970. "Breeze" (Box 1), the Yacht Club's newsletter and the Harbor Study documents pertaining to beach erosion in Highland Park (Box 2.11) document the activities and goals of the organization. Administrative files and publications can be found in Boxes 1-. Visual materials are located in Boxes 4-8.

This collection is comprised of, ink drawings, manuscript submissions and installments of the comic strip "From Nine to Five" and "Duets" created by cartoonist Jo Fischer. The three manuscript submissions present in this collection are all stylistically different, both in terms of graphics and humor, from his most famous comic strip "From Nine to Five". The variety of dates covered in this collection also demonstrate how "From Nine to Five" evolved over time; While, the original ink drawings found in this collection provide some insight into Mr. Fischer's illustrating process and its evolution over time.

This collection holds the clippings and other family or biographical information received by the Highland Park Historical Society in response to a questionnaire sent to families who lived in Highland Park, Illinois prior to 1940. Files are arranged alphabetically by last name.

This Highland Park centenary project culminated in the publication of "Highland Park : The First hundred years." The research and writing team included Anna Rigndahl, Lillian Tucker, Ruth Rose, Pat Heyman, Judi Nickol, James Wahlman, Chester Jones, and Marjorie Clavey.
