The Highland Park Mighty Midgets football team was comprised of young men and boys from and around Highland Park. This collection contains, logbooks, rosters, newspaper clippings, and playbooks.

This collection documents the Metzel family from the Civil War era 1860s through the 1960s. Its contents include a family history, landscape architecture blueprints by celebrated landscape architect, O.C. Simonds, contracts, and images.

A.J. Metzel and his family moved to Highland Park, Illinois in 1912 and developed an elaborately landscaped estate. This collection holds hand-colored images or the estate. The family owned the Cutler Shoe Company in Chicago from 1885-1937. A.J.’s son, Truman became the sole owner of the company in 1929 when his father died. The collection includes a family history written by Truman Thwing Metzel that spans from ca.1860-1960.

Also included in the collection are two pamphlets issued by the parish, a Pastoral Letter of His Eminence Archbishop of Chicago published in June of 1954, two brochures about Catholic Colleges and Universities in the Chicago area, two recital programs of the Garino Accordion School from May of 1951 and April of 1952, a newsletter titled The Parish Voice, published by the St. Joan of Arc Church in Indianapolis, and 4 newsletters from Our Lady of Ozarks, Carthage, Missouri.

Norman Rivkin's interview about World War II

Oral history interview with Jewish World War II Army Veteran. Norman Rivkin served in the 5th Army Division "Red Diamond Division" during World War II, 11th division, Company K. He relates training and military exercises, "war games" leading up to the invasion of Normandy, France and the campaigns and battles on French and German soil, especially Alscace and Lorraine.

Rivkin discusses continued 21st century correspondence and meetings with people he met in the 1943-1945 war theater in Germany and France. Interviewed by "Eric" for student project.
