This collection contains images used in "Highland Park Settlement to the 1920s" local history book. These items were pulled from other collections for the use in the Settlement book and have not been rearranged.
The bulk of this "Book of Memories" [scrapbook] consists of young and contemporary images of Club memories juxtaposed with brief hand-written or printed obituaries. Also found in this scrapbook are charter member lists and images, various rosters, event photographs, corres., and a few meeting records. Information on play "Tuning up for the wedding."
This collection, created by the Highland Park Historical Society, contains materials relating to Highland Park's centennial celebration in 1969. The collection includes memorabilia such as stickers, candle holders, and wooden nickels, the Centennial Anniversary Dinner programs, manuscripts for publications about Highland Park history, especially in reference to its centennial, special editions of local news publications covering the centennial, news clippings, and the centennial banner.
This series contains documents pertaining to Highland Park Historical Society. The documents from the Challenge Grant Fund from 1992 through 1994 are included as well as repairs that have been done on the house and other administrative documents pertaining to the society.
These plans are for an analemmatic dial in Highland Park. Two of the plans focus on the structure of the analemmatic dial (4/26/76) and one focuses on the sundial site- landscaping on Central and St. Johns (1/5/77 rev. 7/7/77). The plans were drawn by Jerry Man.
Hand-drawn map with a key to 60 local businesses and a note "To Mr. Lundgren's knowledge, the oldest continuing business in Highland Park is the Earl W. Gsell & Co. It was first known in 1872 as Kurkee & Cummings ; later Cummings ; and then Earl W. Gsell. In 1923, a partnership was formed with Earl W. Gsell and Oscar L. Lundgren, retaining the Earl W. Gsell name. After Mr. Gsell's demise, the business continued in the same with Oscar L. Lundgren sole owner. The three stores were sold to Caesar A. Garibaldi in 1974 who continues the business in the same name. The business is now 107 years old. Prepared by Oscar L. Lundgren (signed), July 1979.
