        <p>August G Haak lived in Highland Park until at least 1965. According to his recollections, Haak landed the first airplane in Highland Park on Zahlne's farm on Ridge Road in 1927. Haak's father came to Highland Park in 1904 and was an organizer of the Highland Park Businessmen's Association, the forerunner of the Highland Park Chamber of Commerce. Haak owned Haak's Auto Supply, 1923-1965, and Willys-Knight and Whipper and DeSoto Car Sales. In 1969, Haak lived in Marthasville, Missouri</p>

      <p>A photo album (Box 1) created by August G. Haak to document early aviation in Highland Park. The photo album contains various ephemera including photographs, programs, ticket stubs, and newspaper clippings. There is also a focus on Haak's life outside of his aviation interests including his business and family life.   Of note are personal items of William and Ellen Edwards including records from Royal Neighbors of America, material from Haak's involvement with St. Mary's Church, Deerfield High School commencement from 1903.<lb/><lb/>Box 2 contains Haak's goggles, pilot's cap, Dictator Sports Goggle container (tin) and Department of Commerce Aeronautics Brange Identification Mark (6953) tag.</p>
