The Ernest A. Grunsfeld Jr collection contains hand drawn architectural plans, schedules, surveys, detailed notes, and blueprints. The collection is a combination of new construction undertaken by Grunsfled and various collaborators, including alterations Grunsfeld undertook on existing buildings. All the buildings covered are private residences and were built in the area now known as Highland Park, Illinois.

This collection contains items used for and in political campaigns. There are buttons, flyers, mailings, handouts, bumper stickers, pamphlets, and even letters written to or from the person running for office. These items have been organized into 10 series. These series describe specific political offices, a group that requires citizens to be voted into (such as city council and city board), and a general file containing items used to understand politics. The various peoples associated with these groups and there names can be found within each folder and in the finding aid.

The collection also holds several images from the syndicated, award winning Walt’s Workshop television program and the Durbahn Tool Museum opening at the Highland Park Historical Society (HPHS). Clippings provide background information on Durbahn’s career.
