Young, William Atkinson

Born August 27, 1910 in Kansas City, Missori, Reverend Young served as minister of Highland Park Presbyterian Church from 1948 to 1969. Before coming to Highland Park, he served as minister of the First Presbyterian Church in Peoria, Illinois from 1933-1948. After leaving Highland Park, he served at the United Church of Christ in Waukegan, Illinois from 1969 until his retirement in 1976. Rev. Young was a graduate of Park College in Missouri, and was ordained in 1934 from McCormick Theological Seminary in Chicago.
Reverend Young’s wife Elizabeth Young was a long-time first grade teacher at Highland Park’s Indian Trail School.
Young died May 25, 1991 in Lee’s Summit, Missouri.

Peter Clark Wolcottt was born in New York, New York, May 4, 1856. He became an Episcopal deacon in 1879. He served the Diocese of Iowa. until his February 3, 1892 election as rector of the Trinity Episcopal Church.
Reverend Wolcott served as the churches Rector, 1892-1925. In addition to his clerical duties, he served on the Highland Park Public Library Board, 1893-1923, and on the high school board, 1898-1916. He served terms as president of the library board and terms as chief executive for the high school board.
Dr. Wolcott married Elinor Louise Smith in 1885, and the couple had three children who grew up in Highland Park.
