Williams graduated from Oak Park High School and attended the American Conservatory of Music. He spent much of his early career in Chicago and on the North shore with stints on Broadway in New York and a later career as a character actor in California.

Robert C. E. Carlson (1925-2008) was born in Providence, RI, and as a youngster learned to sail on
Narragansett Bay. He served in the US Navy as an aviation cadet from 1943-1946, and met his future
wife while stationed at Glenview Naval Air Station. Upon release from active duty, he married Grace
Ann Good (1923-2010) and they established their home in the northern suburbs of Chicago. They
raised four sons and had homes in Deerfield, Highland Park, Deerfield, Bannockburn, Diamond Lake, and
Wildwood. They were members of NSYC from about 1952 until about 1960. He made a career as a
carpenter and general contractor, and was highly respected throughout the northern suburbs for the
quality of his work. His outside interests were photography, fishing and aviation, and he was a longtime
member of Saint Gregory's Episcopal Church in Deerfield and the Northbrook Rotary Club.

In 1883, Archibald W. Fletcher and family, wife Elizabeth and daughter Mary (May), settled in Highland Park. Originally from Canada, the Fletchers came to Chicago in 1863 and worked on a government contract building bridges. Eventually he became a resident of Evanston and began establishing his carpentry business on the North Shore. Fletcher became interested in breakwaters and began building them along Lake Michigan in conjunction with the various towns. In 1883, he established a coal business in Highland Park that expanded his work from only carpentry and building. Then in 1884, he also established a lumber yard. Fletcher was contracted to work various jobs in Highland Park and even built a 3 story business building on Central Avenue, dubbed the Fletcher building.
Fletcher served as postmaster of Highland Park at the turn of the 19th-20th century.
